HOLIDAY HOME AT LAKE GUDOWER
The design of the holiday home on Gudowr Lake was entirely tailored to the needs of its owners. It was intended to be a retreat from the city. A natural retreat for relaxation, wellness, and cozy evenings. And this is what we did: The house was located in the second row from the lake, but the property bordered a spacious, beautiful nature reserve at the rear. Since there was a shed and no windows on that side, we completely changed the layout of the rooms and the orientation of the house. The shed had to go; instead, we installed large window panes and swapped the living room and bedroom. Now, from the comfortable sofa in front of the fireplace, you can look out into the greenery, and the sun floods the room. To further enhance this airy, nature-loving feeling, we removed the false ceiling in the living room. The light colors and calm surfaces emphasize the minimalist freshness. A bamboo cane ceiling with antique roof beams gives the room a natural warmth and coziness. In the bedroom, a royal blue wall adds a pop of color and echoes the blue sky from the opposite window. We built a 50-square-meter terrace made of larch planks, which houses a sauna and offers plenty of space for dining, relaxing, and sunbathing.
The light natural colors of the interior contrast with the rhombus cladding made of black-stained larch.
